A Signal Crew consisting of Signal Engineering and Training Supervisor and EIC, Paul1, Signal Maintainer, Jim1 and Senior Signal Worker, Bill1, went to work today with the idea in mind that they might finally get the Island Circuit associated with the old Safetran Grade Crossing Predictor working - based on research done and a hypothesis conjured up by Jim1 - at Sutterville Road today. It worked!! It appears that both the island and approach circuits are working (The island circuit has not worked independantly of the approach circuits since the crossing was placed back in service in 2001 or perhaps 2002.) and the GCP is picking up a Signal Maintainers Shunt correctly and consistently. Way to Go Jim1 and Way to Go Crew!!!! Thanks for a job Well Done!
A survey of commonly used (by the Signal Department) Landmarks along the SSRR Main Line was made on April 17th to update associated Mile Post Numbers. The SSRR Main Line Schematic Diagram was updated using the results of the survey and the revised diagram has been posted on the Signal Server. It is located in the folder titled "SSRR Signal Training" in a sub-folder titled "Part 214 EIC Examination Training Material" The title of the diagram is: "Handout of Milepost MP 00.30 to MP 03.90 - 002 REV A". The diagram is used by Employee In Charge Signal Maintainers when setting up On-Track Safety procedures to protect Signal Roadway Workers working on the right of way.
If you have not yet been past the Sutterville Road and South Land Park Drive crossings for a few weeks, you should. Signal Associate Carol has done her magic and the flowers there are looking Good!!!!!
